Upcoming Events:
Book Studies – 1/30
We will be having two awesome book studies again this semester. The women will be studying Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World. I (Mindy) read it over break and it was really awesome. I think it is so meaningful for anyone who struggles with balancing the business of life and her walk with God. I really hope that you will join us in this study. If you want to, please contact me ASAP so we can get a book ordered. The men will be studying Saving Daylight. I am sure this will be a great study too (I just don’t know much about it) Contact Mike Powell for more info.
Cheese Cake Cook-off – TBA
There are a lot of “famous” cheesecake bakers around Wesley House. So, we are going to have our first cheese cake cook-off. This will be a fundraiser for Nothing But Nets, an organization that provides mosquito nets for people in Africa so that they can avoid getting malaria. Check out more information at http://www.nothingbutnets.net/. It will cost $2 to be a judge in the contest. If you want to enter a cheesecake, please sign-up on the bulletin board.
Volleyball Game
We will be getting together to play volleyball sometime soon. Watch your email for more info!
Retreat
We will be having a retreat coming up this semester. Get excited! We will announce more information later.
Spring Break Mission Trip – March 7 - 16
We are going to Beaumont, Texas to help with the Hurricane Rita Recovery. The group will be roofing, dry wall hanging, taping, mudding, sanding, painting, floor replacement and repair. It costs $50 per person which includes food, supplies for work sites, lodging, activity one evening, insurance, showers, and t-shirt. It will be a whole lot of fun and a great opportunity to serve.
